Gabriela Riveros (She/her, Aquarius) is a Paraguayan-American Illustrator. Her digitally rendered work revolves around multicultural identities, history, and mythology. Storytelling is an integral part of Riveros’ work and she is often inspired by her Latina heritage and the magic woven into our histories. She was born and raised in Milwaukee and graduated from MIAD in 2016 with a BFA in Illustration. She is currently a full-time art director for Kohl’s, as well as a freelance illustrator and DJ with her crew.
As DJ Aguara’i her set compilations are carried by the influence of global sound in Reggaetón and latin club as well as playful explorations of genre-bending edits. She is a co-founder and resident member of Agua de Rosas, a Chicago based event, label, and DJ crew originally formed in Milwaukee in 2018. Agua de Rosas shapes the Midwest’s NEOPERREO and Latin Club scene and links niche and emerging talent closer to home.
When not creating, Riveros enjoys lifting really heavy weights, cooking, adventures with her scottie, Grendel, and drinking sparkly cocktails with her friends.
